Privacy policy.
Draft. Last updated [date].
Who we are
Pizza Wala is run by [legal business name] (ABN [ABN]). This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website and what we do with it. We handle it in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
When you order: your name, mobile number, email, pickup time, what you ordered and any note for the kitchen.
When you join the list: your first name, email, suburb if you give it, and whether you agreed to hear from us.
When you pay online: your card or PayPal details go straight to Stripe (card, Apple Pay, Google Pay) or PayPal. We never see or store them. We receive only whether the payment went through.
On your device: the order page saves your cart in your browser so it's still there if you come back. It stays on your device and isn't sent to us until you order. We don't use advertising or analytics cookies. Stripe and PayPal may set their own cookies to prevent fraud while you pay.
Why we collect it
- To make your order, have it ready at the time you chose, and contact you if something goes wrong with it.
- To take payment and handle refunds.
- If you joined the list and agreed to it, to email you Pizza Wala news. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
We don't sell your information, and we don't use it for anything else without asking.
Who we share it with
Only the services that run the website and the shop:
- Lightspeed: our point-of-sale system, so the kitchen gets your order.
- Stripe and PayPal: to process online payments.
- Supabase: our database, hosted in Sydney.
- Vercel: hosts this website.
Some of these companies may store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States. We choose providers that protect personal information to a standard similar to Australian law.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for [how long, e.g. 7 years for tax records]. We keep your list details until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove them.
Your choices
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted (except where we must keep records by law). Email [contact email] and we'll reply within 30 days.
Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, email us first at [contact email]. If we don't resolve it, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
